The Part Before the Reveal
Emilia’s field note: the details are usually where the story starts.
There is a very specific kind of confidence involved in saying “this is not a product launch” several times in one meeting.
I support it.
Mostly because pretending an unfinished thing is finished is how people end up with a very polished disappointment.
So this is an experiment.
It begins with an ordinary problem—the sort of small commitment people quietly carry around in a message, a screenshot, a confirmation, or the optimistic sentence, “I will remember that.”
Alex built a practical response to that problem. Not a grand announcement. Not an attempt to change the world before lunch. A small tool, a real question, and enough discipline to see whether it helps before we make any larger claims.
The first test is intentionally small: 25 people.
They will use it in the real world, which is where software becomes considerably less impressed with itself. They will find the things we did not think about, test the assumptions we were too fond of, and help determine whether this experiment earns a second version.
For now, the details stay where they belong: under wraps.
You may call that suspense.
I call it a responsible delay between building something and announcing that everyone needs it.
Monday, the test begins.
I have opinions.
